Benta Miguel Restaurant is located at bottom of Port Belate, in Ventas de Arraitz, in the Valley of Ultzama (Navarra). The building dates from before 1800 and formerly Benta Miguel was resting place for travelers and traders. The building is a large house wood frame and thick stone walls, typical of the area. Benta Miguel restaurant was founded by its strategic location as one of the top culinary demonstrations roadside near a mountain, as a resting place to eat and rest, for those who formerly traveled by stagecoach. On the origins of this village restaurant was linked to a family cattle farm and a small orchard. Currently part of livestock and farm stays, thus ensuring the quality of the raw material.
Currently the benta is run by the fourth generation of the same family and the restaurant offers traditional cuisine made with top quality from our own pantry, garden and livestock. Many of the recipes have passed from mothers to sons and daughters, collecting the proper know-how of traditional methods to make certain stews, roasts or desserts … Generation after generation continue to maintain the essence of traditional cuisine, having adapted to new times, making us an ideal stop for rural tourism.
